Experience Timeline

These are Massage Establishments I formerly worked at, similiar in form to a resume, not as professional as my actual resume. This is not current information. I just wanted to share the experience I have had working in various spas and clinics.

Mar 2022 – March 2023 Aarna Spa, Huntington Beach, CA This highly decorated, luxurious Balinese-inspired spa; featured in Spa Magazine, sits at the front of the Pasea Hotel. Amenities included jacuzzi, zen garden, steam shower, relaxation room, dry sauna, locker rooms, and on certain days, access to the swimming pool. I didn’t learn a lot, but I was able to perform and hone in my skills of 2 decades of massage therapy to the guests as I got back into massage therapy from a 6 year hiatus.

April 2016-August 2016 Massage Envy, Tustin, CA I swore I would never work for this membership company when they first opened, but this company ended up being a great experience. We offered skin care, scrubs, and massage therapy. I absolutely enjoyed my time with Massage Envy, but ended up moving to Hawaii in August 2016, and did not pursue massage therapy while overseas.

Feb 2016 – April 2016 Massage Green Spa, Westminster, CA This location no longer exists. We offered a serene environment, skin care and massage therapy. I left because of scheduling conflicts, as I wanted to have less days, or more flexibility, due to feeling Massage Therapist burn-out.

Feb 2015 – Feb 2016 All Day Spa, Tustin, CA This spa no longer exists, but was owned by a local dentist who loved massages and skin care. We offered fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies, from our kitchen, after massage treatments, which made the spa smell dreamy.

Feb 2012 – Feb 2015 BodyCentre Day Spa, Fountain Valley, CA This location no longer exists, but I managed it and was an independent contractor. It was a no-frills massage boutique, offering skin care and massage therapy at affordable prices.

Mar 2010 – Feb 2012 Elements Therapeutic Massage, Fountain Valley, CA This location no longer exists, but it was a membership spa. We offered just massages in a fairly large building, and a treatment plan for after each massage session.

Jul 2008 – Mar 2010 BodyCentre Wellness Spa, Fullerton, CA 2008 was the second time I worked at this location as an independent contractor. They offered skin care, massage, and body treatments such as scrubs, masques, and hydrocolon therapy (colonics). We offered couples massages, and on special occasions, fresh-picked strawberries dipped in chocolate were offered with sparking cider in champagne flutes.

Mar 2007 – Aug 2008 Burcaw Chiropractic, Santa Ana, CA This family-owned clinic no longer exists. They offered chiropractic, acupuncture, massage and alternative medicine (supplements and herbal remedies). I massaged patients under the care of our doctors.

Aug 2006 – Mar 2007 Anaheim Health Care Center, Anaheim, CA Situated in a large office building, I worked for two chiropractors and a physician assistant. We had a special room for physical therapy and rehabilitation, as well. It was very clinical. As a service to my community, I generated massage therapy traffic by asking for donations for a food drive in my advertising. I also became a certified Federal Drug Screener while working at this center. I was very enthusiastic about working among doctors and wanted to learn more and broaden my health and wellness career.

Jul 2002 – Dec 2006 Son Soleil Day Spa, Fullerton, CA I owned this spa and sold it after four years, due to changes in property management and cost of leasing. We offered affordable massages, skin care, and had a steam room, something the other local spas in the area did not have at the time.

Apr 2002 – Dec 2002 BodyCentre Wellness Spa, Fullerton, CA This was my first experience working full-time at an organized massage spa, as a massage therapist. When I began working at this spa, I was an independent contractor, a young massage therapist, looking for work experience in a reputable spa. They had skin care, shower, body treatments and massage. I learned a lot at this facility.

Jul 2001 – Apr 2002 Tustin Place Medical Group, Tustin, CA This was my first clinical massage therapist experience. I was a doctor’s assistant in training. Due to his Eastern beliefs, he included Eastern medicine with his Western medicine. The back of the building was dedicated to chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage, while the front of the building was dedicated to Western medicine (medications, medical procedures, lab tests, etc). Working with patients with serious illnesses, was a bit daunting, but a rewarding experience in disguise. I learned a lot in a short time at this office.
